Applicants must have a valid PA Drivers License, Act 120 Certification, and 2,080 experience hours. Successful candidates must complete a competitive Civil Service selection process that includes a written examination, oral interview, physical agility test, and comprehensive background check. General Qualifications for Police Officer Applicants

Section 3.5 of the Civil Service Rules and Regulations

(a) All applicants shall possess a diploma from an accredited high school or a graduate equivalency diploma

(b) All applicants must be a US Citizen

(c) All applicants must be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer

(d) All applicants, prior to appointment, must possess a valid motor vehicle operators license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

(e) All applicants must possess previous PA Act 120 Certification

(f) All applicants must be of good moral character

(g) All applicants must have no record of a felony conviction

(h) All applicants must have reached their twenty-first birthday before the deadline for submitting completed applications

(i) Proof of 2080 experience hours

(j) If military, a copy of DD-214 is required
