Right-to-Know Law

Pennsylvania’s Right-to-Know Law (RTKL) provides the public with access to many government records maintained by state and local agencies, including municipalities such as the Borough. The law is intended to promote transparency and accountability in government by allowing residents to request certain public records.

While many records are considered public, the law also contains exemptions for records related to public safety, criminal investigations, personnel matters, attorney-client communications, and other protected information. Requests must be sufficiently specific and submitted in accordance with the Borough’s adopted Right-to-Know Policy and Pennsylvania law.

To review the Borough’s official Right-to-Know Policy, submission procedures, applicable forms, fees, and contact information for the Open Records Officer, please see the policy on the right side of this page.
