About The Public Works Department

The Tarentum Borough Public Works Department maintains the infrastructure, facilities, and public spaces that residents and businesses depend on each day. The department is responsible for street paving and repair, pothole patching, snow and ice removal, street sweeping, traffic-control support, landscaping, and the maintenance of parks, roads, storm sewers, municipal buildings, and other Borough-owned property.

Public Works employees also assist the Borough’s Water and Electric Departments with projects, repairs, emergency response, equipment operation, excavation, restoration, and other field work as needed. Their work helps coordinate Borough services across departments and allows crews to respond efficiently when infrastructure problems affect multiple systems.

Through routine maintenance, emergency response, and long-term capital improvements, the Public Works Department helps keep Tarentum safe, accessible, functional, and well maintained throughout the year.
