Tarentum Borough has been awarded $463,000 in state funding to support a major water line replacement project on Davidson Street, marking another milestone in the Borough’s multi-year infrastructure and community investment program. This project addresses aging water lines and dead-end conditions that have contributed to recent service and water quality challenges in the area.
The Davidson Street project is part of a broader, long-term strategy to modernize Tarentum’s water system and strengthen essential public infrastructure. In total, the Borough is currently managing approximately $4.7 million in active and recently completed projects spanning water system upgrades, stormwater improvements, public safety investments, neighborhood revitalization, and technology modernization. More than 70% of these costs are covered by grant and appropriations funding, significantly reducing the burden on local taxpayers.
Many of these initiatives have been years in the making and reflect careful planning, engineering, and coordination with state and regional partners. Together, they are designed to improve reliability, safety, and quality of life for residents, today and well into the future. For full details, please see the attached press release.
