The Borough of Tarentum owns and operates a municipal electric system serving residents and businesses within the Borough. Electric service is governed by Borough ordinances, adopted utility rules and regulations, approved rate schedules, and applicable electrical standards.

All customer-owned electrical facilities, service installations, alterations, and wiring must comply with Borough requirements and the National Electrical Code (NEC), as adopted and amended by the Borough.
