As part of the Borough’s residential waste contract with Waste Management, residents have access to a year-round, at-your-door Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and electronics collection program at no additional cost.
Instead of waiting for special drop-off events, this program allows residents to safely dispose of qualifying hazardous materials directly from their homes.
How the Program Works
Schedule a Collection

Receive a Collection Kit
Waste Management will mail you a kit with instructions and materials to safely package items.
Home Pickup
On the scheduled date, a trained technician will collect and properly handle the materials for recycling or disposal.

The service is available year-round. Residents may schedule additional collections as needed.

Automotive fluids (oil, antifreeze, brake fluid, etc.)
Paints, stains, and solvents
Pool and garden chemicals
Pesticides and herbicides
Batteries
Electronics, including:
Televisions (limited quantities)
Computer systems and peripherals
Electronics with circuit boards
(Some items must be placed inside the provided kit; others are collected outside the kit. Quantities and restrictions apply.)
Important Notes
Items must be properly labeled and not leaking
Medical waste, explosives, ammunition, tires, and commercial waste are not accepted
Latex paint is not hazardous and may be reused or donated
