The Public Works Department of Tarentum provides the essential services of maintaining the water system, sewer system, streets and public parks through capital improvements, as well as various maintenance activities. Some of the services provided to the community are paving, patching, water main replacement and repair, sanitary and storm water sewer maintenance and repair, snow removal, public infrastructure maintenance and repair, traffic control, street sweeping, and landscaping.
The Public Works Department business hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., however, a Public Works employee is always on call. For situations that occur after-hours that require immediate attention, contact the Water Plant at (724) 224-9688 and they will notify the Public Works on-call employee.
